Background

Synergy People, based in Campbelltown (South Western Sydney) and Nowra (South Coast NSW) offers professional recruitment and labour hire solutions specialising in the sectors of manufacturing, technical, construction, engineering and pharmaceuticals. Their approach is to partner with clients for workforce planning and management, leveraging their Job Fit People Intelligence Platform. They aim to combine the personalised service of a boutique firm with the capability to meet the needs of larger clients, covering sectors from SMEs and government to major Australian corporations.

Challenge

Synergy People required a robust push in client prospecting. While proficient in candidate sourcing, their business client acquisition needed enhancement. SJA Consultants was engaged to fortify this aspect, initially focusing on cold leads and later transitioning to warm leads from existing databases.

Engagement

Tasked with building Synergy People’s profile from a recruitment standpoint, the goal was to reach out within their local footprint and identify potential client needs. Their bespoke approach and focus on five key industries made this journey unique and demanded a highly tailored and thorough prospecting process. We employed a dynamic approach, combining phone calls, emails and research. Initiating direct contact through personalised calls and emails facilitated a deeper understanding of potential client needs. Simultaneously, extensive research into the local market and key industries allowed us to tailor our outreach effectively.

Strategy & Execution

The strategy involved targeted lead lists under five very specific industry segments and market research. The initial step was contacting potential clients from their lead list, and asking qualifying questions specific to the prospect’s industry, to understand the needs in either labour hire or permanent support.  This was followed by an introductory email and over time a follow up strategy. Warm leads were escalated to the Operations Manager, for in-person meetings and relationship building.

Our strategy also included introducing other companies to the unique benefits of Synergy People's industry-specific labor hire support. By showcasing the tailored solutions and expertise our client provided, we positioned Synergy People as a valuable partner in meeting the workforce needs of businesses in various sectors

Results

The engagement has been a significant success. In tandem with our lead generation efforts, we prioritised building lasting relationships and raising awareness of Synergy People's profile within the target industries. Our approach extended beyond mere transactional interactions, emphasising the establishment of genuine connections with potential clients. Through consistent communication and personalised engagement.

One notable achievement was landing a contract with a company providing a range between 500-800 labour hire hours monthly, among other successes in landscaping, construction and administration sectors.

Challenges and Resolutions

The post-COVID period brought fluctuating demand to the recruitment industry, with certain sectors experiencing challenges while others thrived. It was essential to adapt to these evolving needs. With the assistance of Operations Manager Jason, several strategies were implemented to navigate the differences in success among industries. Factors such as the time of year, holiday seasons, heightened demand for specific products, weather conditions, and undoubtly the economy played significant roles in shaping these outcomes.

The ongoing success of Synergy People is attributed to the continued collaboration with SJA Consultants. Consistent appointment setting and productive site meetings have proven effective in cultivating relationships. Each prospecting session brings forth new business opportunities, reinforcing the decision of Synergy People to persist in their partnership with SJA.
